GROW & GATHER
This collection is about growing, nurturing, and crafting from the materials around us. It celebrates the simplicity of forest life—walking in nature, gathering plant materials, and shaping them by hand into objects of use and value. Rooted in the essence of the plant, the design emerges through exploration, guided by its natural form.
I harvested a single bamboo pole from my garden and guided it through an eight-month natural curing process using water, air, sun, and smoke. As the bamboo matured, its thick, fleshy culms softened, making them easier to carve. Slicing cross-sections revealed the plant’s intricate anatomy, inspiring pieces that highlight its unique structural details, preserving its essence in every object created.
